Weighing the PROS & CONS

My Husband and I have been debating for a little while now whether or not we should get our son, Ethan a puppy! Although I have had a pure bred Dachshund named Codie or as Ethan calls him TODI. It's the cutest! Codie is not the best listener and would rather run away than stay put. I have never seen a dog with more energy and Ethan needs a puppy who can withstand being on the go 90% of the day. But my little wienie does not have an off switch and will jump on you, nudge you or do more annoying tactics to get you to play with him! All of us can push him away and all he does is knock Ethan over so you can see my dilemma. We did a pet quiz online this evening and we were give 6 different breeds of puppies that are best suited for our family!!! I googled some of their breeds and the pricing just blew me out of the water. Even if we could afford to pay $500+ for any of those pups I don't think we should! I would rather spend that amount of money for things my babies need. Then I found an adoption agency that has the breed of puppy we want for Ethan! She is a beagle & harrier mix, 3 months old which is the perfect age. It will only cost $10 to purchase her as a stipulation we have to get her spayed and that is no biggie at all. Compared to spending $500+ we will spend $50 max! Now that is what I call a good deal. I emailed the adoption agency and will god willing hear something back on Monday. Hopefully James won't change his mind about getting Ethan a puppy by then. My fingers are tightly crossed! If all fails we have decided to bring our kitty cat Hunnie back to our house. Ethan loves to chase her around and for some reason she lets him do whatever he wants to her without flinching! What a brave kitty cat we have! For you animal activist he isn't abusing our cat by any means, if you have children you know he isn't the gentlest petter.

How can I not fall for that face?!

And we shall call her "DAISY" or "MISSY"

Ethan & Hunnie Bunnie!!

My Pet Peeve

She loves to EAT & He loves his HORSE!!
You know when someone tells you "I'M GOING TO DO THIS..." But only do part of what they started and then you end up doing twice as much work to complete their task. That is my biggest pet peeve! Please please please when you start a project you must or should FINISH it out of respect for the other people around you. My husband thought he'd help me out by doing the laundry and hearing the sentence "Babe, I'll do the laundry, you please relax for once!" was like music to my ears! The angels in heaven were singing HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH. Now 3 days have passed and I've walked by our laundry room approximately 50-55 times. Every time I've noticed the washer door closed and the only time it is ever closed is when clothes are inside. I stub my foot on our hamper which slides into the dryer and it makes a huge gong noise. Most of your moms out there know the sound of an empty drier and I walk over to the door, open it. Yep there was not one article of clothing inside, no shirts, pants, socks, towels, nothing. I open the washer and get a whiff of musk water. I had to rewash those clothes again, dry, fold, and put them away all while taking care of our daughter. He was "doing the laundry" I played with our children and for what? For me to have to redo his half cooked work? This boy needs to remember that when he starts a project no matter how insignificant he may seem to him is very important to the flow in this household! I had to take 10 steps back to re-correct his work and on top of my daily routine/chores. He thinks it's alright that he can forget about the laundry because it's not a big deal and I shouldn't let the small stuff get to me. He is right on part of that, however it is not about us anymore this is about our children! There has to be structure and a routine so that I am not constantly having to do things. I am fed up with having to do everything by myself on top of the things he tries to do and fails miserably. I would love for him to do the laundry from start to finish and prove that he is capable of being responsible! Only time will tell and if he doesn't then he'll be sleeping with the raccoons because we don't have any dogs! We do have vermin so he better watch his back since some of them are very feisty. Just kidding I wouldn't make him sleep outside even though it might teach him to remember!

Onward to the weekend

Getting ready for LIFT-OFF!!!
In the Process...

I have been working steadily at my tutus for Pookie Jane's Boutique in Gruene, Texas! I finished them up last night and then completed the final touches this morning before James left for school! Tis a great thing when professor's cancel a morning class. I am able to do about 10 things on my to do list without having to stop 50 times in the process. I'm not whining because my kids come first and I will not let this business of mine come between my duty as a momma. This morning went by again very quickly and after I finally wore Ethan out he went down in our bed by himself! My baby boy is learning and quite content with himself now. Before he would never let you put him down until he was out for more than an hour and the rocking oh goodness the rocking. Although I would have liked to have him secure with himself and allowed him to cry, but I honestly can say I wouldn't change a thing about the first year of Ethan's life! He was our first born and you learn for the next baby like we have for Lily. No parent is going to do anything 100% correctly and you have to do what you feel is right for your children. Everyone can give their opinions and pointers, but at the end of the day it is your life so live it the way you see fit! My two babies make my life complete and I can die in peace knowing that I brought two of the greatest gifts into this world with a lot of determination and rebellion! To think if I would have listened to those doctors who said I would never have a baby and if I did conceive I would have a miscarriage after month 2. All I have to say to those doctors I have two reasons that say you are wrong! Wow I can definitely get side tracked. I had to deliver the rest of Kelly's order this evening and wouldn't you know it, Gruene was having a huge wine festival! And what would you know I actually wanted to pick up my favorite of all favorite wine. It is a sweet wine made in Wimberley, Texas! So delicious, haven't had it in nearly 2 years. Then we drove all the way to Kyle to get Ethan's hair cut because he's been needing it done for weeks now. James and my mom took Ethan to get his hair cut back in August which led to the biggest botch job I've ever seen. It looked like Jim Carrey in "Dumb & Dumber" and more uneven unfortunately. This guy at Premiere Cuts by HEB in Kyle did a phenomenal job! He didn't like it at first and cried for about 2-3 minutes straight, but then saw that the gentleman wasn't going to hurt him. Come on little man I would die, kill, and steal for my son as well as daughter! He started to laugh and get the willies as the neck trimmer came out! We had such a great time and then we got a phone call about my business. We had a lovely young woman come over and purchase some bows! She is interested in getting a TEE made for herself; made my day again. God is pleasing me and my family beyond belief! Having faith as small as a mustard seed will prevail. Don't ever give up and when the hard times seem to get tougher just keep pushing forward. Like Dory says "JUST KEEP SWIMMING, JUST KEEP SWIMMING, SWIMMING, SWIMMING!" Ethan finally stopped fighting his sleepiness and fell asleep about 15-20 minutes ago. Then I got hungry so my hubby kept suggesting stuff to eat and I kept being difficult! I couldn't help, but just giggle at him because he had his thinking cap on. Well that is all for now guys! Have a wonderful evening. Adios

Couldn't get better!!

Ethan was up bright and early this morning! Can you say, 7:30? After 2 hours of wabbling around the house in a grumpy mood Ethan crawled into bed with me and fell asleep across the bed. I was on about a sliver of our queen sized bed and Ethan had the rest. I think we need a Cali King bed! Anyone else agree? Especially when you have a bed hog like my husband and son. Well James really isn't a bed hog as he is a SNORING King. I tend to keep as far away from him and he will try to snuggle up next to me while snoring very loudly in my ear. Yuck! To get a little revenge and justice I will pinch his nose shut so he'll wake up gasping for air. He'll wake up and be like what's wrong? Where are we? It's great! Take that Mr. ISNOREEVERYNIGHT... Today came and went too fast! I finally dragged my lazy butt out of bed around 11 a.m. I came into the living room to check my email to make sure my business meeting was still on and at 11:08, Ethan comes walking into the living room. He hands me my phone and says Mimi Momma, Mimi. I look at my phone and sure enough I missed a phone call from my mom. What would I have done if he hadn't of been in the bed? He is such a great helper! We steadily rushed our morning routine and were running a little late because momma had to get everything packed into the SUV aka the BLACK DIAMOND! We safely drove very fast to pick up daddy from work so we could head to Gruene to meet Kelly from Pookie Jane's to drop off my first half of her order of TuTus. This boutique picked up my line of tutus and I am completely thrilled! I have been praying night and day, day and night for someone to have faith in my talent which has happened. Kelly emailed 2 days ago and we finalized an agreement for the first batch! Come out this weekend to see what all she has available and the more you all buy the more orders she'll be making. I met Kelly at 12:30 and she loved, loved, loved the first part of her order which was such a relief. When you put so much of your heart and self on the line for others to tear down it's scary to be so vulnerable. I drove up to North Austin to surprise my dad for his birthday, but when we got there he was on a conference call. We had to wait patiently and it was hilarious because Ethan had no clue why Papo was in his office not paying attention to him. He would go up to the big glass window to his office and yell PAPO, PAPO, PAPO, Hi, PAPO! It was the cutest thing ever. After 30 minutes of visiting we headed back home, and that meant back to work I go. I finished the last batch of tutus and watched my son run like a wild Indian around the living room! He played with his new blanket I made him and it was funny. He finally wanted to go lay down in his own bed which is something he and I have been working on! He was out cold no one had to rock him or anything he just went to sleep on his own while watching LA INK. Then my hubby hears the Geico Commercial with Maxwell and after the first WEE went off nothing so my husband didn't run in to turn the TV off. Then after the 3rd WEE sure enough Ethan popped up out of a deep sleep and started coping Maxwell! That boy loves that commercial and will run around the house saying WEE MOMMA WEE! All we could hear is Ethan saying WEEEE, WEEEE, WEEEE and we cracked up laughing because there was nothing we could do. Now Ethan is back to sleep and the TV is on MUTE! What a great evening. I leave you with pictures of Ethan running around with his New Fleece Tie Blanket I made him with horses on it. Until next time! Adios

He was all sorts of happy to have his blanket!

My little Helper

I was woken up by a 2 month olds almost laughter! Lily was wide awake at 5:15 am and was giggling about something. Then Ethan woke up in a cranky mood, but it's because we are weening him off the bottle. He did surprisingly well and only had a 4 oz bottle then entire night! I think he'll be sleeping through the night in a few days and  I am extremely proud of my big boy. I want to cry because he's growing up before my very eyes and it's not something I'm ready to accept! My babies finally went to sleep around 6:30ish and slept until 9:10. I woke up with some cramping and I am holding my breath. I have endometriosis to the 5th power and my doctor thinks it's actually in blood stream. Basically that means nothing will really cure me unless having a baby adjusts my woman-hood. My pains only happen when I get my monthly visitor and today was not bad at all even though I was nauseated about 50% of the day. Ethan could tell his momma wasn't feeling all too well so he was on his best behavior and was good about 98% of the day which is like perfection in Ethan time! He helped me clean up the house, get his lunch ready and watch his baby sister, Lily. What more could I ask for? Ethan is such a helpful little man! I love him with all my heart. I got an inspirational email today from a lady that wants to see my collection of merchandise! It was music to my ears and she wants to see everything I have which was all packed up from this weekends festivities. She gave me the drive to get my business room together and it took me about 3 hours to organize as well as unpack all of my items. Everything looks really good and I am quite proud of myself! If anyone else wants to see my collection please send me an email so you can stop by and check it out in person. Very anxious for Thursday and Friday to come! Keep me in your prayers. The house is cleaned, our clothes washed, babies asleep and momma relaxing! What a great way to end the day. Well that is all folks!!! Until next time.

Won't be Defeated

It has been a couple of days since I've last posted and I feel completely terrible. I wanted to do a posting everyday, but the last 48 hours have been hectic. Sara and I had a booth at the Buda Fire Fest in Buda, Texas this past Friday evening and All day on Saturday. Let me tell you it was very tiring to pack, unpack, load, unload, organize and prioritize all my merchandise 2 days in a row. Although I didn't make as much money as I had hoped it was a great experience! I passed out a lot of business cards, and flyers for both my business as well as Sara's photography. It was an experience in itself and my tutu was the center of attention at the Little Miss Fire Fest Pageant. As Halloween inches it's way to us my breath is being held because I'll hopefully have a lot of orders for costumes! I am praying this year I can bank, but only time will tell and I'm staying positive. God will provide! He always does in one way or another. I enjoyed all the new and wonderful people I met. Especially the ones that gave me great advice, and ideas to help expand my business! To you wonderful ladies I thank you from the bottom of my heart. The lady who deserves all the praise is my mom for being such a helping hand and creator as well! She made my welcoming sign wall very cute and it made the difference. My booth stood out in a good way among the other 50 vendors! I get my creativity from her and I can never tell her thank you enough. Although my parents babysat their grandchildren while my hubby and I were busy working the event. They were in hog heaven! The Buda Fest also had a pony walk and I was able to sneak away to take Ethan for a ride. My father taught him to call the horses and by George he did it! He was going bananas waiting not so patiently for his turn on the ponies. It was the cutest thing ever to see his face light up like the Fourth of July! My kids never cease to amaze me and I am forever grateful they chose me to be their mother. First weekend down of the next 3 weekends we will be busy! Next Saturday Eddie's Birthday, Sunday we're heading to the Pumpkin Patch in Elgin, Texas. This year will be tons of fun since Ethan will be able to run around and do all of the crafts that they had last year. Very excited to take pictures of my wee ones having a fabulous time! Today was an extremely busy day for me also. My husband needed to study for a test he has tomorrow and complete a few quizzes online. As I wrangled up our babies while he studied and once I got them down for a nap he was done! I ran out to the Prime Outlet here in San Marcos to get a few things for the kiddos. They are in dire need of warmer clothes and clothes that fit for that matter. GOD knew we didn't have a lot of money to spend and thankfully they were having a huge SALE at Carter's! Lily got a lot of shirts that cost $3.40 and Ethan got shirts that were $5.00. Momma is a thrifty shopper and came out like a bandit. I'm not sure if the lady rang up the clothes correctly, but I spent like nothing there for a lot of clothes, but I didn't wait around for her to figure it out! Even if she wanted to find me she couldn't because I was running like a bat out of hell. Maybe in a couple more weeks I'll go back and get them more clothes when this business starts bringing in more earnings. Come on clients!!!! I need your business and I'll make it worth every cent. Well that is all folks. Until next time, Adios!
The entrance to my booth! Go Momma.
